Rooted & Rising
Life Skills Collective for Young Adults with ASD
Building Real-World Independence in a Real-World Environment
Rooted & Rising is a small, highly individualized life skills program for young adults (18+) with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
At Roots to Blooms, we believe independence develops best in spaces that feel natural, safe, and meaningful, not clinical.
Our program takes place in a calm farmhouse setting in Leesburg, where participants practice everyday life skills in environments that mirror home and community life.
Instead of simulated activities, young adults build independence by:
-
Preparing meals in a real kitchen
-
Managing laundry and personal organization
-
Practicing budgeting and meal planning
-
Maintaining shared spaces
-
Strengthening communication and self-advocacy
-
Practicing community readiness skills
The setting reduces sensory overload while increasing generalization of skills into everyday life.
Assent-Based ABA in Action
Rooted & Rising is grounded in assent-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This means participants are active collaborators in their goals.
We prioritize:
Autonomy and emotional readiness
Choice-making and intrinsic motivation
Functional, meaningful goal development
Natural environment teaching
Data-driven progress monitoring
Individualized Programming
Each participant receives a customized life skills plan that may focus on:
Daily living skills
Executive functioning
Communication and social confidence
Pre-vocational readiness
Community safety and navigation
Self-advocacy
Enrollment is intentionally limited to five participants per day/group to ensure individualized attention and high-quality implementation.

We are currently accepting AETNA.
