What is the Life Skills & Vocational Readiness Program?

At Roots to Blooms, we believe that every individual deserves opportunities to learn meaningful life skills, develop confidence, and prepare for greater independence in adulthood. Our Life Skills & Vocational Readiness Program is designed for teens and young adults ages 13–18+ who benefit from structured support while building practical skills for daily living, community participation, and future employment.

Located on our unique farmhouse campus, participants learn through hands-on experiences in a natural, engaging environment where real-world learning happens every day.

What Makes Our Program Different?

Unlike traditional classroom-based programs, participants learn by doing. Daily activities are designed to teach functional skills in authentic settings while incorporating individualized ABA support, social development, vocational readiness, and community participation.

Participants engage in meaningful activities such as:

  • Cooking and meal preparation

  • Laundry and household management

  • Personal hygiene and self-care routines

  • Gardening and farm projects

  • Vocational and job-readiness activities

  • Social skills and peer interaction

  • Leisure and recreation skills

  • Community and safety training

  • Team projects and cooperative learning

Every activity is intentionally structured to build independence, communication, problem-solving, confidence, and self-advocacy.
